For sellers

Read-only access, in two minutes

When a deal gets serious, I ask to see the real numbers. You never send me a login or a password. You add me as a read-only user wherever the money shows up, and you can remove me with one click whenever you want.

Amazon Associates

A short screen recording
  1. Start a screen recording, then sign in to Associates Central yourself.
  2. Open Reports and set the date range to the last 12 months.
  3. Scroll through the earnings summary and earnings report, then send me the recording.

There's no simple view-only invite in Associates Central that I know of, so a recording works best. You stay signed in on your side the whole time.

Mollie

Role: Viewer
  1. In the Mollie Dashboard, open Settings, then Team.
  2. Click Add member and enter the email above.
  3. Pick the Viewer role and click Invite.

Viewer sees payments data. Statistics and settlement reports need the Finance role, which can also refund, so only pick that if you're comfortable with it. The invite link works for 48 hours.

PayPal

Reports-only user
  1. Go to Account Settings, then Manage users, then Add user.
  2. Enter the email above.
  3. Select only Schedule and download Transaction History and run Settlement Report, then save.

That permission can't be combined with any other, so the user can only run reports. PayPal emails me to set up my own password.

PayPal's guide to managing users
No passwords, ever. I'll never ask for a login, password or two-factor code. If your tool isn't on this list, write to hello@acquiredbythomas.com and we'll find the read-only way together. To remove me later, delete the user from the same screen.
